my very first blog I created in 2003 with the pic above (showing my late tomcat Royo and his boy Cejo) as it's logo... after some blogging time at various placed, I decided to move to blogger and to feed my personal websites into my three blogger blogs - below the history of my web-presence:
When I first put up a website, it was intended to help others to avoid those mistakes I ran into during my immigration process. But soon it started to have a life of it's own and ever since it's growing... ... ... brought me into exploring more and more all about HTML and imaging... ... ... it's name and it's design changed quite a bit over time - it's very first name I can not remember at all - just that it was sitting at MSN and loaded forever, as I had no clue about imaging at all, but loved to craft background images. Quite a while ago by now: back in early summer 1999.
In summer 1999 I was tired of all these problems I ran into with MSN-Talk cities Homepages and moved to Geocities. There it got it's first long term name >>>A German in Ohio<<<>
Ever since this site was sitting at Geocities - for a while quite "truncated" as I had by far too large photos and graphics and ran into "allowed bandwidth exceeded" a lot. Looked for other free hosts, moving was quite a challenge - I had to spread the word about my new location and that funny new name as that new host didn't accept these underscores I love so much :-(((.
Got myself an org-Domain [on sales]. Finding a name turned out to be a challenge too - no underscores allowed... ... ... after permutating for hours and torturing google I finally arrived at "Arianescybergarden". In the long run this didn't turn out to be a keeper - by far too long and I myself got tired of this name after a few month too.
Looking out for a new domain-name: I wanted a bird's name... my favorite name >>>firebird<<< [taken from the ballet - NOT from that car] wasn't available at all... wanted a bird native to Germany and to Ohio... these little wrens - they are fluttering around me here as their German brothers and sisters did back in Germany. Ever since this site goes by the name >>>Web-Wren<<<.
When moving from Dayton, Ohio to Delaware in May 2007, it became necessary to totally revamp my pages and also I set the site's domain to the already owned by me >>>zugvogel.us<<<, as I seem to be more of a zugvogel (migrating bird) than a wren (the web-wren domian I dropped - unfortunately it got "reanimated" by some biz I utterly appall to carry that name)...
